During a typical session, instructions for pelvic muscle strengthening, relaxation, and coordination exercises will be provided and tailored to you. If an internal exam of the pelvic floor muscles would be helpful information to have, your full consent is received. Through a pelvic exam, muscle strength, tone, and flexibility can be determined. This provides a good starting point and allows for the ability of your progress to be tracked. Real-time ultrasound may also be utilized, and it provides feedback and allows you to visually see if you are contracting and releasing muscles correctly.
